Here at Grosvenor Dental Practice, we have been working hard to redesign the practice experience and the way we operate to ensure that we can welcome you back as safely and as quickly as possible. Every step we have taken during the Coronavirus Pandemic has been with a focus on the safety of our patients and our dental team and has followed the latest guidance from our professional bodies. As such we may not be able to offer all of our normal services and treatments at your next visit. One of the team will discuss this with you when arranging your appointment.
We understand that things will be quite different to your usual experience of a dental visit and that you may have concerns and questions, so here is some information on how your new visit will feel.
Remember, if you have any of the symptoms of Covid-19, please let us know as soon as you can; do not attend your appointment and follow the government guidelines around self-isolation.
ON THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT
Before you leave home, we ask that you have already visited the lavatory, have ensured that you are hydrated and have already brushed your teeth. Please do not bring a large number of things into the practice with you, only bring necessary items.
When you arrive, the practice door will be locked, so please call to let our team know you have arrived and either stay in your car or outside the practice if you have arrived on foot. Remember to always maintain good social distancing protocol. If possible, we ask that you attend your appointment alone unless you require assistance or are supporting a child or someone vulnerable.
As per the latest government guidelines, we also ask that you wear a mask or face-covering when you attend your appointment.
We are encouraging card payments only or prepaying over the phone, so where possible please do not arrive with cash. If you do need to use cash, please bring the exact amount advised in a sealed plastic bag.
ENTERING THE PRACTICE
When we are ready for your appointment, one of our team will call you to notify you to approach the practice. Please let us know if you do not have a mobile phone, we will make alternative arrangements. Before entering the practice, one of our team will confirm your answers to the screening questions again and take your temperature to ensure you do not have a fever. If your temperature is above 37.3 degrees, we may need to rearrange your appointment for the safety of all those in practice.
All members of the team are also asked to follow these same steps to ensure the practice is safe for all visitors.
Once you have entered the practice, you will notice distance markers on the floor to guide you through the practice. You will first be asked to sanitise your hands with hand gel, please let us know if for any reason you are unable to use the gel and you will be escorted to a handwash station.
If you have attended with someone, they will also need to follow the above steps, and will be asked to wear a mask or face-covering whilst in the practice.
We will require payment before your appointment (if appropriate), ideally by card, using our freshly disinfected card machines to ensure you can have a swift departure once your treatment has finished. Our practice colleagues will be behind protective plastic screens and may be wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), for the safety of everyone.
No other patients will be waiting in the reception area and you will be guided to the treatment room, following the distance markers. Before you enter the treatment room, you will need to leave any loose belongings like your coat or bag in a designated box provided.
Upon entering the treatment room, our team will be wearing extra PPE as we cannot adhere to the normal social distancing guidelines. This may mean that it is more difficult to see our colleagues and clinicians’ faces, but please be reassured that they will be the usual friendly team. You can rest-assured that each treatment room is carefully cleaned and disinfected after each patient.
AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT
When your treatment is complete, you can collect your belongings from the box outside the treatment room. Before you leave the practice, you will be asked to use the hand sanitiser one last time, before we say goodbye. If you have any questions after the appointment, we will be able to call you to discuss this further as our aim is to minimise your time in the practice, for your own safety.
We do hope that with this information you can rest assured that we are taking every step to ensure the safety of all patients and your dental team. This will always be our top priority as we work towards getting back to normal and being able to offer all of the services and treatments at the high standards we pride ourselves on.
